Background

The island of Pangya exists in a world much like our own. A world similar in many ways, but very different in others. On Pangya, magic rules. The magically lit countryside is inhabited by rainbow coloured fairies, while in the towns, magicians work side by side with lawyers. Whatever their trade, the inhabitants of Pangya adore playing Pangya. And the fact that the island is named after the game is no coincidence.

Long ago, the island lived in peace and prosperity, but the Demon King was jealous of this magical kingdom. In his anger, he sent his demons to conjure a vortex to drain the island of magic. In just a few days, the inhabitants of Pangya saw their forests wither, the wind die and the countryside turned to desert. The normally happy populace was devastated and desperate to save their homes.

The greatest magicians came together to fight this evil. Yet, even all of their skill could not defeat this evil. All seemed lost, until the arrival of an old hermit with a magical crystal ball, in which he had captured all the power of nature. He called this wondrous object an Orb. He explained that should the Orb be placed in the heart of the magic vortex, it might just be able to destroy it, allowing life to return to the island. However, there was one catch, the crystal ball could not be touched by any living creature or it would instantly disintegrate. To combat this, the Magi of Pangya created a Rune Staff to propel the Orb directly into the heart of the vortex. This staff was known as the Club of Heroes.

One problem remained! Each time it was touched by the Club of Heroes the Orb lost power. Some way had to be found to place it into the vortex while touching it as little as possible.

After much discussion, it was decided to entrust the Orb and the Club of Heroes to a warrior from a world known only as Earth. Blessed with unbelievable skill, the stranger placed the Orb straight into the heart of the vortex, completly destroying it and the demons, thus restoring the balance of nature and life to the island.

Ever since, that great day has been celebrated by imitating the hero's accomplishment. Over the centuries, this celebration has evolved into a sport and rules were drawn up.

Now you are invited to visit the island of Pangya and to pit your skills against their champions. So, what are you waiting for?
